I don't understand many things people put a stigma on.  I'm just trying to hash out some of my thoughts.

So I visited my mom today in the boonies.  And she gave me the usual threat of making me quit my art school education to come home to a state college if I got anything pierced or tatooed.
And I wonder why does it matter?  It's no different than my purple hair.  It doesn't (barring an infection) affect my health, my grades, or my behavior.  Being an art student, it doesn't even affect how my teachers or fellow students think of me.  I'd be just another kid with their septum pierced.
